Welcome to my blog. My aim is to keep everyone informed of my progress as Interiors by Tracy Smith sets out to establish itself in the Interior Design industry. I will be keeping on top of current trends in design, materials, fabrics, colours, furnishings, accessories, art etc. etc and will be posting regularly with my recommendations and inspirations. Occasionally I may digress into some of my other interests (food, music, art, local events etc) so please forgive me for my ramblings and feel free to comment.
As I am based in Scotland, and as we have recently celebrated Burns Night, I thought I would include some plaids, tweeds and tartans which is a trend that never disappears and that I can't get enough of. There are some lovely fabrics out there and although some can be expensive we can always find a cheaper alternative. Currently I have real soft spot for some of the fabrics being produced by Moon Fabrics and I especially love their Bronte range which includes beautiful throws in subtle tones which can be placed at the bottom of the bed or on the arm rest of your favourite chair. With the cold snap set to continue into February it would be lovely snuggle up on the sofa with one of these throws below!!

February is the month of love and for the next few days everywhere you go there will be love hearts all around. Home interiors has seen a lot of hearts around for quite sometime and are used quite often in French/ Vintage style homes. I have to say we do have a few heart-shaped items around our home but I do feel in some cases love hearts can be over used throughout interiors. In my opinion Interior Design is about finding a balance and sometimes too much of one thing can leave a home looking very cluttered or themed. It is lovely to have some 'Home Jewellery' (as Kelly Hoppen would say) so I have picked out a few Valentine influenced accessories for the home with a contemporary feel. I do hope you like my chosen few, I would be happy with any of these as a Valentines gift. Click on each photo for details.
